Between The Lines at Bastien Art with Mimi Kunz

                                                   Mimi Kunz
What a fun and successful vernissage "Between the lines" at Galerie Bastien in downtown Brussels yesterday evening. My favorite works are "green" and the blue "untitled" paintings by Mimi Kunz.

Denis Meyers at the old Solvay building in Brussels

photos by J Spinks
"Denis Meyers takes over the former home of the Solvay company in Brussels by transforming the abandoned complex through painted words, thoughts and memories. Remember Souvenir transcribes Meyers’ work over the years to the empty walls and windows, creating an intimate look into the life of the artist. It is a true testament to Belgium’s ever-growing presence on the street art scene."  theculturetrip.com

Hitchcock in Brussels

This site reminded me of Hitchcock's famous horror movie "Birds".
The UP-site residential tower dates from 2014 and offers stunning views of Brussels, the canal and its surroundings.

Wiels, Brussels showing City Life in Congo

"This exhibition by photographer Sammy Baloji and anthropologist Filip De Boeck offers an exploration of different urban sites in Congo, through the media of photography and video. Focusing upon the “urban now”, a moment suspended between the broken dreams of a colonial past and the promises of neoliberal futures, the exhibition offers an artistic and ethnographic investigation of what living – and living together – might mean in Congo’s urban worlds"

Tutti Frutti

Tutti Frutti is  such a fun place that I like to share a few shots from the Open House last Sunday.  A rather unique language school for children aged 3 to 11, located in Saint-Gilles, Brussels, the school consists of a bilingual nursery school (French-Dutch, French-English, French-German and French-Italien) as well as after-school classes in a variety of languages (French, Dutch, English, Italian, and Spanish).
A creative and enthusiastic team of teachers from all kinds of backgrounds practices a "pƩdagogie active" (active learning) and teaches languages in a playful way.
During it's annual school party, teachers, parents, and children had a great wonderful, "Tutti Frutti" time, as the party reflected the spirit of the school. There were food and beverages, face-painting workshops, yoga, a piƱata filled with candy and happy kids all around.
You can check out more about Tutti Frutti at their website: www.tutti-frutti.be
